What are you thankful for?

Are you thankful… in all circumstances?

Like you, I have had high and low points in life. I’ve been hurt, disappointed, ridiculed, and counted as a failure many times over. On the other hand, I haven’t been perfect… I’ve also hurt and disappointed others. If you’ve read my testimony then you know everything I share with you is something I learned from my time being a player and womanizer. It’s a wisdom born out of pain…but greater than that, my call and passion was born out of my need to conquer my own struggles.  What are you thankful for?

Today, I am able to use what I learned from dealing with thousands of men and women in order to help others. I’ve been counseling men and women every day for over 13 years. My past pain is now my ministry. What a blessing!

What about you?

If you’re single and dating, you definitely have moments of despair. You have a promising first date turn out to be a disaster. You have a 3-week emotional and lustful relationship die out of the blue. Maybe you’re still trying to figure out how a 6-month relationship that you invested so much of yourself into could end abruptly because he/she was “just not really feeling you anymore.”

If you’re single and not dating, maybe you are wondering why no one seems to be taking an interest in you. Perhaps, you’ve been trying to walk on the road for Jesus for so long in preparation for that Christ-centered relationship, but you continue to find yourself going through feelings of loneliness, maybe even moments of desperation. Or, maybe you have totally mastered the ability to love yourself and be happy alone… but, of course, you still desire to love and be loved.

As frustrating as all of this is, it is also the very nature of relationships and dating. But, I want to encourage you to not give up. Don’t think that one relationship problem or situation redefines your entire existence. When it comes to relationships, failure is the default setting until you’re successful. But, even if failure is the most predictable outcome of any romantic interaction, it doesn’t mean you’re gaining nothing from the process. Good or bad, we can all learn from relationships. So, remember, what you learn now will make you better for the next relationship. Be thankful through it all… (“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18)

As we give thanks in all things….I want to share what I am grateful for in 2011. I, also, want to know what you are thankful for. After reading my list, please take some time and add at least one thing you are thankful for in the comments below… It will greatly encourage and edify others in our K4LC Community….
